Jon G Brooks

Our Story

Jon always knew that he wanted to practice law in a way that helped regular, hardworking people get out of debt and get ahead. Jon opened The Law Offices of Jon G. Brooks in 2004 with the aim of approaching Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 Bankruptcy law to restore dignity and a sense of financial control to the lives of his bankruptcy clients. At that time, Kim split her practice between family law and bankruptcy law. In 2013, she joined Jon to practice bankruptcy law full time and together they formed a family practice of bankruptcy attorneys.

Jon and Kim have always worked closely with other Bay Area Attorneys, drawing from the expertise of a closely knit community of committed bankruptcy lawyers who advocate tirelessly for the rights of debtors. They have always represented honest, hardworking people who find themselves needing bankruptcy protection because, despite their hard work, they find themselves drowning in debt and suffering from the abuses of debt collectors.

Jon and Kim met at Santa Clara University School of Law and graduated together in 2001. Kim earned her bachelor’s degree in political science and sociology from the University of California at Davis. Jon earned his bachelor’s from the University of Colorado at Boulder with a degree in Spanish.

Although Jon is no longer with us, his dedication to growing and nurturing a bankruptcy practice with the purpose of helping clients get out of debt with dignity will endure. Kim has continued to build on that legacy and she is dedicated to practicing bankruptcy law in a compassionate manner.
